Headers usually give you 30 ponies and you can feel a noticeable difference I have American Racing headers . I would get them or LGs

Fast intake, headers, underdrive pulleys might get you close on HP#s but you are not going to get the torque, even if you did you will still be slower because of the weight difference.

Default C6-zo6

I have upgraded my C6 suspension to provide much better performance than A ZO6 (Koni adjustable sport shocks, adjustable sway bars and much better tires. To improve my straight-line performance for road racing, I am thinking about the following three options:

APS twin Turbo's
LS7 engine swap
modify my LS2

Which one would work the best for road racing and be the most reliable. I'm also thinking of upgrading to 3.9 gears and a Callaway shifter.

Weigh your car then go weigh a Z06, What I have personally seen is a difference that is closer to 100#. Yeah, it does make a difference. What makes the most difference is the Z06 large fat torque curve, it is difficult to get the same type of tq curve on a 6.0L or 6.2L without FI, plus the fact that the Z06 revs to 7K rpms. Once you actually get to Z power levels I suppose it comes down to 2 factors
1) traction
2) drivers

I know, put them on a scale.
My C6 1sa (2lt) weighed 3207 nearly completely empty. GM says it weighs 3179.
It s lighter now with headers, brakes, wheels, But I have not had it corner weighted again yet.
Either way go find a 440whp C6, race a stock Z06, let us know what happens.

Default With Mods Only A 4.10 Can Compete With Torque

Yes mods like ported tb & manifold + LONG TUBE HEADERS
along with all you have will probably get you there around
450 HP . The z will still have a TORQUE edge, but if you get 4.10 gears
you will have the "MECHANICAL ADVANTAGE" giving you the additional torque to win. Considering both drivers are = and both cars hook up the same.

Sorry my take on this is if you are going to sink that kind of money into your C6, why not just buy a ZO6? Then you get the whole package with a warranty to boot.

I would certainly assume the Z would take a C6 with 440hp....but I don't have 440 so I don't know that for sure. My point was weight would not be the determining factor.

Just find a light weight driver for the C6.

Try headers and a tune next.. you still will need more to catch the Z06 in power..
