Ok, so today I finally had my dealer attach my front license bracket with the double sided sticky tape provided on the OEM plate bracket. As we are in MA it is mandatory. I HATED IT!! It totally changed the look of the car and I just couldn't stand it as it mounted really high (just under the flags). I told the dealer that I thought it looked horrible and he agreed and said if I didn't want to keep it on, I could just pull it off.
Well as soon as I got home I did but the sticky tape remained!!! It is soft and rubbery, not hard glue but I cant just scrape it off. What would be the best way to disolve the glue without ruining the 3M bra underneath?
Try Goo-Gone. You might try taking the big parts off using fishing line to cut through it. Then use Goo-Gone and soak it in real good. It takes off almost anything that has adhesive. Good luck.
Way to go and glad it worked out for you. Still hard to believe that the license plate holder is just glued on, but in a way it is good as you can do a removal and not have any holes.
Now to decide to become a law breaker by removing mine.
