Hand Held Tuners Are There Differences ????
I currently have a Diablo Predator U7194. At first i found it usefull
in reading CODE CEL's, clearing them and the capabilities of selecting
a couple of Tunes with the additional feature of DATA LOGGING and ADJUSTING PARAMETERS. Many experienced tuners and modders claim
that a tool like the predator is only good for :
DISABLING TM , FAN SPEED CAL FOR 160 STAT,
DISABLING CAGS , SPEEDOMETER RECAL FROM DIFF CHANGE,
ADJUSTING SPARK ADV At WOT
ADJUSTING A/F RATIO WOT. TRIMS, INJECTOR SLOPE ETC.
They also claim that the a/f readings ase reasonably close to that of a
wideband O2 assy.
If this is true then LS2 EDIT, HP, SLP & others kind of fall in the same boat. It seems to me a PRO TUNER has much more capabilities at his disposal to cause the car to drive better from idle to 1/4 pedal or
1/2 pedal . Not just WOT DRIVING .
Has anybody started with a hand held unit and then got a better one
or and eventually got a PROFESSIONAL TUNER when all mods were done??? W#As it much better Hp/ Tq also.
