Default Lowering Vs Spring Rate

I have learned on this forum that ride height change is a simple ajdustment .
Can anyone who has done this give me your thoughts on the benefits vs the detractions .
My questions are will it affect spring rate , and how will it affect ride ?
I have an 07 Z51 manual vert .

The benefits are quicker turn-in, lower cg, and the handling benefits associated with lower cg.

You should get a new alignment as your negative camber will greatly increase, negative camber is good for handling but will wear out your tires faster. It does not increase spring rate, it just reduces the amount of travel you have.
