I have an 06 convertible. My battery went down, after recharging, the power top will not work. I heard some one say that most likely I need to index the windows. Does any one know how that is done?
there is a write up up in the manual...
I believe it is down, hold 3 seconds, up hold 3 seconds, down hold three seconds, up hold 3 seconds....
It specifically deals with the dead/disconnected battery situation and is linked to the convertible top... This prevents damage to the top when the windows lose their index...
From the OM:
After a power reconnect such as battery replacement,
the window index-up feature will not function until
the system is initialized. Once power is restored,
do the following:
1. Close the door.
2. Raise the window by pulling up the switch.
3. Hold the up switch for three seconds after the
window is closed. Release the switch.
4. Hold the up switch again for three seconds
and release
