Default Corsa Exhaust mod .. . HELP !!!

I am thinking of modifying my current exhaust system hoping to get a “DEEPER” sound. My current system is LOUD enough … I have an A6 car with Kook’s (6600EX) headers, Kook’s high flow Cats (6115CC) and Corsa Sport (14167). As you can see, there is no more room to insert anything! I’m thinking of adding Corsa Touring mufflers somewhere toward the rear of the X pipe by cutting and adding them to the system. I’m effectively attempting to make a Touring system hoping to get a deeper sound. The Sports have a high pitch and Corsa said with the headers and high flow cats, the “highs” are being amplified. They feel adding the additional mufflers will help cancel the highs and deepen the overall sound!!! Problem is, I really hate to cut this X Pipe and not really sure if there is enough height to install them without hitting the floor? Haven’t been under the car since May and don’t recall the clearance in this area. Has anyone tried this ?

Well, im sure you could do it, dont think there would be a clearance problem. I'm sure you dont want to get rid of your current header system and buy another set, but just so you know, Kooks now has a set of headers available that will allow you to bolt on the Corsa touring kit.

I had almost the same set-up; American Racing headers, x-pipe, high-flow cats and Corsa Sports. Changed the Corsa Sports to Borla Sports. Nice deep muscle car sound now.

Are they long tube headers? Don't know if I want to go that way, my headers are 4 months old! I'll check with Kook's this week.

Spoke with Kook's this morning and their website allows someone to to configure a complete system (headers, cats) for an A6 with a Corsa Touring exhaust. After we discussed the entire system, they decided it was a typo and the only Corsa that works is the Sport. There is no room for the additional mufflers. I'm back to square one !!!

I had Kooks and Corsa Sport. I changed the Sport to the Extreme. It has a deeper sound now.

I would not fool with the Touring, I highly doubt it would sound deeper. Since you are already deep in $$$ on your system, as mentioned previously, the Extreme will be much deeper than the Touring, albeit a bit louder overall. Go fer it
