Default 4:10 gears, typical install cost?

I have an 07 Z51 MZ6, and wat to go with the 4:10's. How does this work? Do they usually install a new ring/pinion in my housing, or exchange in a preset one? Do I need to watch out for a weaker 05 housing if prebuilt? Can I buy a housing, and install myself? I am in DFW if any recommendations. Thanks all!

With a Z-51 You Don't want 4.10's IMO but it's your car!
The install price i was quoted was 7 hrs labor plus all parts and fluids.
I 'm getting 3.73's and I will still be a little taller 9.9 vs. your 10.1 first
pretty good for first for you right there! Too low and you will lose speed.

Your a bit far from us, but for a comparison, your gears would be $1,395 installed while you wait if you like.

ZO6's are $1,695 with programing, and A6's are $1,995 with programing.

Hope that helps.

do you have 4.10s in your Z51 or are you just guessing? Because every person on here with 4.10s in their Z51 love them and call them the best mod they have done.

Is that price parts and labor or just labor??? What gears do you typically install, GM Motive??? I've been kicking around the idea of getting 4.10's on my 07 Z51 for a while now. I had them on my F-Body and loved them.

That is the price for Parts and Labor. We use Cyro treated Motive Gears.
  • $1395 for MN6 upgrade
  • $1495 for A4 3.15 upgrade (includes shift programming)
  • $1695 for A4 2.73 upgrade to 3.42s (includes new Z06 carrier and shift programming).
  • $1995 for A6 upgrade (includes shift programming).

If you want the hardened output shaft that is an additional $295.00

This is absolutely incorrect, IMO, and probably everyone else that has 410's w/Z51. They are a fantastic mod, awesome SOTP feeling. Go for the 410's with your Z51 or find someone with them in their car and drive it. I'm guessing after you drive it you will get them.
