Default Battery Disconnection

What settings do we lose when disconnecting the battery, upon reinstallation? Radio, seat memory, etc.?
Thanks

Don't know for sure... but most likely everything thats programmable.
I got a lead acid backup alarm 12v battery. I added a accessory plug for the cigarette lighter to it. I plug that in and that keeps all the systems memory alive until I reconnect the battery..

Does it work? I was told that they don't on late model GM cars. What make and model is the device that you are using because I want one.

Thanks!

I've disconnected the battery a number of times while working on the car. Never lost any settings. Only thing you have to do is fix the windows (forget what you call it). But you basically hold the 2 buttons up for 20 seconds and your back to normal.

Chime in if you remember what they call that...

Window indexing is the only thing lost by many here when they disconnected the battery.

This is the CORRECT way to reset the window indexing.

Raise the window and hold the up switch an extra 3 seconds. Release. Without lowering the window, hold the up switch again for 3 seconds. Release. Done.

This is called resetting of the window indexing or power window initialize and is in the owner's manual. See page 2-17 of the 2005 owner’s manual, page 2-18 of the 2006 owner’s manual, or page 87 of the 2007 owner’s manual.

Occasionally I have had to re program my seat...but that is all (except for the indexing of the windows, which you have to do every time). I have had my battery disconnected a dozen times.....

Window Indexing is all you have to do. I learned about that 'after' I washed the car.
