hey guys
has any tryed to reprogram a used key fob from another car.
I bought a extra fob on ebay (used) and tryed to program it in the way outlined in our manuel. I did the open the trunk with the key, then 5 turns within 5 sec, then looked at the DIC and nothing. what am I doing wrong or is it because of a used fob.
DIC should say "Ready for fob #2 or #3" if it's working
Dealer sold me a generic type GM fob & my 05 C6 would not recognize it, had to get one for a 05 Corvette. Instructions for a 05, Vehicle must be OFF, have recognized & unrecognized transmitters. Open the hatch, turn key 5 times within five seconds. The DIC will display Ready for FOB #2, place the Fob in the glove box slot with buttons facing passenger side. You’ll hear a beep, press the ACC button (ignition switch) Done.

The trick to getting the DIC to show ready is to turn the car ON, then turn the car OFF and then begin the key turning sequence.
If you try this with the car OFF without first having turned ON, the DIC will display nothing.
my car is a 6 speed, I tryed the reverse thing but still no response from DIC......could it have anything to do with the other used fob I purchased.....its a #1 and I have the original #2.
thanks so much guys for your imput.......It worked. I cant see how anyone could program a fob unless you know all the little suttle things to make it work......ie rerverse for stick and power on and off
