Default Ameican Racing Headers/Tune on a LS3

Just back from Tom Wongs shop in Vancouver. He installed a set of American Racing Headers w/cats on my 08. The car baselined at 396hp and 383tq. After the headers and tune it pulled a 424hp and 414tq. The car runs smooth as silk, with just a little deeper exhaust note. This is headers only, stock intake and filter on a MN6.

That's a lot of power man. Even months later I'm still amazed at how much power these LS3s make, both in stock trim and with bolt ons.

Was waiting on You Don't NEED to ask. How's it run? Do I!
My graph is on here I'm made 421 and 410 with the Kook's. You got Me by 3hp 4tq
on the same Dyno. Pretty close though. My base was only 378 but my base was a lousy run hot with no fan. I had your Vette-air with no air! Car didn't like it!
Should have been 385 or better that's why the BIG #'s difference)then 428 and 429 though:on the same dyno.thumbs: these are dyno jet #'s. Mine is Non npp.
Is yours Npp? Anyway we got to get together, I want to check out your car! Great numbers, That Tom is sharp!

No I don't have NPP. I thought those were pretty good initial numbers, especially for me. I'm not usually lucky, but I think I got a good one this time. Yes, I was very impressed by Tom. I'm going to be buying some kind of intake this winter. I am still hoping K&N will come out with a drop in filter for the LS3. Tom wasn't showing much intake restriction on the tech2.

Great #'s for a mustang dyno! Especially the baseline stock.

Already thinking about pulling the intake and TB when I get it put up for the winter so you can work your magic on them.

Nice system you have Nick, and thanks for the advice over the phone. I could have put them on at home, but I wanted a tune done so I just had Tom install them. 31 lb/ft over stock, I was all on the way home from work last night.

Do you happen to know if the MD was set to read out dynojet numbers?

Not that 424 isn't INSANE power already for a car with nothing but headers (congrats by the way ), but if those are legit mustang dyno numbers, that car would have made well over 400 stock on a dynojet.

In either case, you made 15 more RWHP than my cammed/longtube LS2 GTO did....which is why I now understand why I took the plunge and spent all this money on an LS3....

I don't think it was set to read dynojet numbers, but Rock n Blue 08 dynoed his car just days apart on this one and on a Dynojet. I think the numbers were within 2-3%.

Those are legit numbers. He has his sheet posted.
Mine made 421 and 410 on the same dyno three weeks earlier.

Great numbers! Good luck keeping tires on that thing.

p.s. 424 Canadian HP equates to 445 US.

I wasn't implying that the numbers were a lie. I was just wondering if the dyno had been calibrated to read like a more common inertia dyno, or if it was still displaying the legit eddy-current type numbers.

424 RWHP on a Mustang Dyno is NUTTY power....

I LOVE this car....
