Default Vararam: Has the quality changed?

I'm considering buying air intake for my 2005, has the quality of the Vararam changed over the last six months?

If this is any indication of its quality I will avoid it:

Believe it or not that slight bow isn't a problem. It's a 2 peice design with foam surrounding the airbridge/scoop and contacting the filter in between (almost like a sandwich effect) and it seals together very tightly. If you had it in your hands you would see how snug it all fits together.

Plus Vararam has a great policy, if your not happy with it for any reason, they'll buy it back.....you really have nothing to lose for trying it out.

There is a tradeoff with any scoop CAI, it'll require more frequent cleaning of the filter, but your getting the best performance from a CAI you can buy.

Quality sucks, installation sucks, performance is outstanding. much lower IAT's and pulls like a beast. Looks good once it's in, too, and cool to see a mouth behind the grill.

Nothing to lose, how about a new engine. I bought one it was biggest mistake. Not only did I lose money but I found LOTS of junk behind the air filter. I don't even want think what the inside of the engine looks like. STAY AWAY

put my Vararam on about a year ago and I love it. No problems with anything getting by the filter. Get one....you will love it too.

Default Vararam

Put a Vararam on my 2005 6 speed and it has been awesome!! Used the pre-cut shroud and it was not too bad to install. I had no fit issues with the Vararam. Great product !

Default FS - Vararam Gen2 Snake Charmer VRSC1

I have a brand new set for sale $300 shipped or San Diego local pickup.

Turns out my local tuner uses K&N exclusively (I just had AR header and K&N installed and tuned on my '08).

PM if interested.

p.s. pardon for putting up VR FS

I have it on a C5 and my current C6, friend has it on his C5 and C6, never any issues at all. No water induction, no dirt, no other complaints I typically hear about.

I highly recommend it.

Before you purchase any CAI, take a look at the BPP Vortex. You look at the difference and then you should decide. Look at the Quality and the fit and finish. Both do an outstanding job of collecting outside air. Good luck!!!

Oh I wouldn't let some of those minor things such as that prevent me from getting a performance part that offers such major improvements in acceleration/top speed.
Some of the sticky drag radials on the market don't quite measure up to the OEM Goodyear's standards (though they are still safe) either but when they're suddenly shaving over 3/10ths off of one's sixty foot times then the true performance enthusiast won't really care about a little unfinished look to the sidewall lettering/stampings.

Before buying aftermarket parts one might want to ask themselves if they want to be known as a waxer or a racer.
The Vararam works, it's been track proven time and again.

I've had mine on since March with no issues. I've driven in some pretty rain storms with no issues either.

My IAT's were lower with the Vararam but the quality was abysmal. Customer service is top notch though. They took it back no questions asked. The design is outstanding, the execution is poor.

My VARARAM is working fine and fits good.I'm not as **** as other people so if a little piece of something is silghtly off,I don't care as long as the thing works.Quality is not the best, not the worst and certainly better than it used to be.

what I did was put some double sided foam tape around the seals to make sure they were in contact with all surfaces. This has sealed it up and there are no problems. They could do a lot better, but the product works fine and sealing it up like I did is really easy.
