Lots of people replace GOODYEARS w/some other RUNFLAT BRAND.I personally don't really have an issue w/GY's.FIRESTONE's are a pretty popular replacement R/F.No issues anywhere.
The question I have about replacing runflats with non runflats is what do you do if you get a flat? No spare, no jack, no lug wrench. My C6 takes 2 size tires so I'd have to carry 2 spares and my convertible trunk is too small for that. I carry a plug kit and a small battery operated compressor with me but I'd still rather have a spare tire.
The GoodYear EMT (run flat) tires for C6s come in two flavors, the standard tires and the "Supercar" version that comes with the Z51 and Z06 packages.
Most people seem to be reasonably happy with the standard version, except perhaps for the price.
There are a lot of complaints about the Supercars, but mostly these are the sort of issues that are common to any high performance tire: noisy, fast-wearing and not great in cold weather.
A fair number of people have gone to non-runflat tires in search of a bit more performance or a tire that's easier to tune; I suspect that most of these started on the Supercars.
Actually, there is a third version, the AS-C which is an all-season tire. Don't hear much about them.
The reason I ask in the standard run flat bridgestones on the BMW are not getting great reviews. Some people replace immediately, with non run flats, others buy insurance from BMW, because of cupping, flats that cannot be repaired, and split side walls from potholes.
We have the same issue has you. The sports package has staggered size tire.
My car comes in Thanksgiving and I am tiring to get some options as to what to do.
The biggest complaint w/GY's I hear is ride noise, ride quality, because they are so stiff.I'm not looking for a CADILLAC RIDE in a CORVETTE though,so they're fine with me.
I think the biggest complaint with the Supercar EMT's is treadlife and replacement cost. Mine have gone 18K and are shot. Replacement GY's
are around $500 ea. That's a lot for short mileage. I'm going with the Firestone Wide Oval RFT's which I've read many good reports about on this forum.
I debated this for a long time as I needed to replace tires. I went with non-ruinflats for the improvement in ride, noise, and handling, and do not regret it for a second. I carry a plug kit and tire compressor for the off chance I get a flat. I like the idea of the runflat, but the sacrifices you must make to have security for something that "might" happen is to great to me.
I have been very happy with my standard RF's on my 06 a6, that is till now. I have added AR headers- tune and some other mods, now i can't keep the car on the road.
Think i am going non runflat after my stock RF's wear out.

I have the all season Goodyear Eagle F1 AS-C's and must say I am very happy with them. You sacrifice a bit of hot weather high temp grip for outstanding grip in cold weather ranging from 10 to 50 degrees. WOT no problemo in these temps, you cannot say that for Supercars! They also have the highest wear rating of the Eagle EMT's. I would not recommend them for constant warm climes, but for 4 season climes & cold climes, they shine!! Oh, no problems at the strip either with the AS-C's.

Actually, it depends where you live. Like the Supercars on the Z51 package, the Sport package tires are a summer, performance design.
My wife's 335i Coupe runs the EMTs only, but gets very little winter use here in the Pittsburgh area because of the cold weather and snow. That where the Subi comes in handy.
The C6 does get limited cold weather use so I switch from the Supercars in summer to Michilin PS2s(non-runflats) for colder weather.
If weather is not an issue, I would give them a try for a while. IMHO the EMTs on both our Corvette and BMW are fine. Most people agree that the new generation run-flats are much better, and you don't have to worry about being stranded by a flat.
By the way, the 335i Coupe is my favorite four-seater ever. Enjoy your new ride!!
I got a nail in my GY Supercar EMT's at 18K on my Z51. I drive it pretty easy, 18K is good for those tires. They had a bit left but were pretty well gone. Supercars are a little noisy and pretty firm but very responsive with great turn in. They turn so fast and hard you can accidentally smack an unsuspecting passenger in the face with the passenger side window if you make a quick change in direction. I replaced with Mich PS2's. At first they felt very mushy, a result of the much more compliant sidewall. For most applications I prefer the PS2's. Better ride, quieter, and from my experience better traction in line, in the wet, and in turns. They don't turn in like the EMT's though. If you drive those EMT's in the cold, anything under 50 degrees or so, lookout, they will swap ends with you in a heartbeat, and you don't even have to be pushing it.

Thanks that was excellent advise. I will run my 335i coupe in nice weather, and my 4runner when I cannot not and keep the summer run flats.
