This didn't happen to my Vette. I just got back from having my Superformance Cobra dyno tuned. During the dyno run one of the weights came off and damn near went thru the rear fender. Make sure that your wheel weights are secure before any dyno runs, wouldn't want see a new Vette with a hole in it. Now in addition to the cost of the tuning I have a body shop repair to look forward to.

was this a lead rim weight or the inside stick -on!
I had this happen once on a pickup I built up. It had the outside crimp style weights and one flew off at about 120mph while I was standing next to the wheel. It hit the inside of the fender and sounded like an M80. Definitely stand clear!
I had most of the stick on type come off on another car a few years ago because the tech didn't clean the surface first. They came off withing in a few hours of leaving the shop.
I once saw a nail in a tire shoot out and pierce a guy's calf...the nail went in so deep the head was half way through his ankle and the other 1 1/2" was sticking out the back! NEVER stand behind a car on a dyno, EVER!
The funny thing about it was, there were a bunch of Corvette guys (it was a dyno day at a shop)...Only one guy had bandages, but 5 or 6 had tire plugs and air compressors available so the car's tire didnt go flat too fast...
