Shifting Difficulties '08
It should shift smooth and effortless, but most often, it seems to grind going from 2nd to 3rd. However, I have no problems down shifting.
My dealer said they would not look at this until I put 1,000 miles on the car.
Has anyone else experienced these issues? Any input would be most appreciated. Thanks in advance.

The car has 1050 miles on it. I do have free Mobil One Oil changes each 3000 miles, but for better performance i would consider using the Royal Purple. What viscosity shoud be used in hot sunny Florida?
Thanks

As to the trans, those that are not stiff in colder weather, less than say, 1500 miles on the odo, or first thing in the morning even in warm/hot weather are, imo, unusual. I've had many man. trans. that were consistently stiff unless it was 80 degrees or warmer, first thing in the morning.
As said, all you have to do is baby it a little, shift slowly from 1-2, 2-3 until the fluids warm up. The general notchiness and slightly difficult shifting really relaxed maybe 40% or more in mine at about 1500 miles. By 2K miles, it almost felt like a different trans.
Others have recommended different trans fluid. Maybe, but I'll stick with what's there now.

Also you need to be careful with your hand position on the shifter. After fluid temp is taken into consideration, most shifting issues revolve around improper hand-position on the shifter. How to Improve Your Shifting
