Default TPS stops at 88%?

My HPTuners VCM Suite just showed up yesterday so I've only spent a couple hours using it so far but I have a question about my TPS. I've pulled four .hpl log files and none of they show a TPS reading higher than 88%. I have a 2005 if that makes any difference.

Thanks in advance.

That is normal. You have to log a different parameter. It is setup to record TPS as a default. The drive by wire throttle bodies need to record ETC Position (electronic throttle control). You can find this by by using the scanner, opening up the chart display. Right click anywhere on the chart, click chart settings. Go down to chart #3, and then click on the PID you want to change. In this case it would be TPS. Then you have an option to either click "sensor" or PID. ETC is not listed as a sensor, so you need to click PID and then click>PID LIst>Engine>General>ETC Position %. Double click ETC Position %, and then click the save button in the upper left hand corner.

Now you have that as a parameter to show. You aren't done yet. Now click on the table display. You need to choose an empty box, right click, insert, and then the same ETC Position % needs to be set a a parameter that you want to record. AFter that is done, click on file, save configuration, and name it something else. Viola! you are now finished!

Don't get discouraged. It is alot to go through, I've been using HPtuners for about 4 years now. It is a very powerful tool and is the only mod that keeps on giving!

I have no idea what you are talking about, and I dont have HPtuners, just trying to understnad a little bit. So, if you oversimplify the explanation, would you say that the software has to be recalibrated to correctly read the TPS in his car as actually being at 100% and not 88%?

The software is reading the sensor correctly. The sensor is behaving correctly. Click the link above. It explains that and much more.

TPS is throttle position sensor. It's not the position of the pedal, it's the position of the throttle plate in the throttle body. Pedal position is measured with a different sensor.

This is done and I'll [hopefully] have it scanning soon! This software is a freakin blast!!! I can see I'll be spending a lot of time with my laptop in the car!
