How did LS2s get into the mix. Topic is LS3 versus LS7 a la Z06.

I wonder how a set of Z06 manifolds would work on an LS3? And before installation, have them Extrude Honed. Should pick up a couple of ponies. (Thats if you want to be sneaky)

No need to extrude hone them, the OEM LS7 manifolds are welded tubing not cast, so they are already smooth. I recently saw a thread where someone put the entire exhaust system, manifolds 3" h-pipe and mufflers from a ZO6 on an LS3 and gained 30 hp.

Wow, that's a healthy gain. Those numbers cannot be to the rear wheels, though?

Actually, the thread was about putting the ZO6 stuff on a 2006 auto... that would be a LS2. Apparently, this has been done by quite a few people. See original posting, below:
-----------------------
Over the Christmas holiday I installed a 2007 C6 Z06 exhaust system (manifolds, Cats, H pipe) plus Corsa Z06 3 inch Sports on my 2006 C6 A6. I did a pre and post dyno run on a Dynojet 248 for comparasion. The car was tuned (A/R ratio, timing, etc) to the same level for each dyno pull. Pre Z06 exhasut was 343 rwhp and post was 373 rwhp. There are a bunch of Z06 guys putting headers on the Vettes. The shop I use had 4 pairs just collecting dust. However, the Z06 guys tend to keep their NPP mufflers, but Corsa, B&B and Borla all make 3 inch Z06 mufflers. The installation was not difficult. I bought GM LS7 manifold gaskets and some O2 sensor wire extensions for the forward O2 sensors. The clearance around the A6 transmission is tighter than I want, so I will get some minor exhaust pipe work. Manual transmission C6's should be no problem at all. Bottom line. I think this is a good 30 hp mod for C6 Vettes if you can get your hands on a discarded Z06 exhaust system.

I find 30 to the wheel very hard to believe.

but, having said that, unless I do a cam swap to my C6z, I'm leaving the factory manifolds alone. I'm already making 485/455 with a couple bolt ons and a tune, and there's zero issues. No codes, no fear of sniff testers, no nothing. Just like showroom stock daily driving with a 40hp increase.

Check tuners for take-offs. Advertise on the C6 Parts forum. If you got dough, by the parts from Cheby for just north of 4 Large....for the entire system end to end.

Through GM Parts House the two exhaust manifolds go for ~$1100. Call Gene.

Default LS7 Exhaust manifolds

Hi:
I am waitng for someone to make extensions for these manifolds that continue the individual passages to about 20 to 25 or so inches to simulate headers. I am sure this can be done , but will take a lot of time. In wonder what the advantage will be?
Somebody ! !
