Default Very Bad Brake Problem!

3 days Ago i was trying to make a U - turn and my brake pedal got Hard! straight to the curb as my car hit it and went over it...........i parked the car looked at it ... LOOKED PERFECT...Only thing i saw wrong with it was the bumper clip from the top had broken........so i got back in my car and went home, Next day I went to my shop raised up my car and Looked to see the lower radiator support was broken in 3 Pieces, right away i got on the the phone and ordered the new one with all the bottom plastic covers, 2 days Later it arrived so i paint the part and installed it .......... the next day it Just hit me......why did my brake pedal get so hard? I made a list of what can cause it which lead me to brake booster.......The seal on the vacuum Line was cut!!!!!!!!!!! Too bad i fixed the problem i should have took it straight to the dealer.......anyone have any suggestions? Should i let the dealer know? Or should i keep it our secret?

Since you fixed the problem there is no reason to go to the dealer. My 2 cents..

did you take a picture of the bad seal? did you keep it? send it after taking pics to Bowling Green. show it to your dealer. ask for the zone rep to come in and discuss it with you.

I still have the seal with me, and I can care less about the seal it only cost me a few bucks but the radiator support cost me 183 after my shop discount+110 for my tech to install it

Didn't you still have base brakes without power assist?

I guess it can be a surprise with you lose vacuum assist.

I would tell the dealer. They may want to do a field product report.

If you have the seal I would contact Bowling Green and ask how they want to handle it. My $0.02

Wouldn't the leaky vacuum seal cause the motor to run really rough? The vacuum line to the brake booster is really big.
