Why would the tranny be different / weaker on a 4lt ???

I'm not too sure about that. Have you seen his other posts?

For sure, and I see that they need 95 octane to run right....cause all that extra weight.

It's a combination of the extra weight, you know most of the people that drive the 4LT's have a bigger head..which means.....more weight.....then the weaker transmissions, less horse power, combined with the driver's not being able to put their right foot all the way to the floor.....well.....they might be more than 2 seconds slower.

So the following components add up to 100 lbs?

Features shown below are in addition to, or in place of 2LT features:
Audio System: AM/FM stereo with six-disc in dash CD changer MP3 playback, seek-and-scan, digital clock, auto-tone control. Includes Bose premium seven-speaker system
Head-Up Display: With dot-matrix readouts for street mode, track mode with g-meter, vehicle speed, engine rpm and readings from key gauges including water temperature and oil pressure
Memory Package: Recalls two driver "presets" for six-way power seat, outside mirrors and telescoping steering column
Seats: Heated driver and front passenger
Steering Wheel: Power telescoping and mounted audio controls
Universal Home Remote: Includes garage door opener, 3-channel programmable, located on driver visor

We're not talking about power seats vs. manual X two (actually, it's an increase of 1 seat motor), AND power windows vs. manual X two, power convertible vs, manual, etc.

What I see is the weight of:

1. one additional seat motor
2. 6 cd vs single
3. wt. of Blose speakers over the others, can't be much considering how sucky they are
4. HUD
5. telescoping motor for the steering column
6. coils for the *** warmer, I don't think this requires a bigger alternator
7. cargo net and luggage shade

put all that stuff in a box and weigh it, and I doubt it would be anywhere near 100 lbs.

While I do tend to agree with you (I'd stated a few posts back that I thought it was more likely a 30-50 pound difference), I also must point out that it's not only the additional passenger seat motor but the multi adjustment motors (on BOTH seats, it isn't included in the 1LT driver's seat) added in as well.
PLUS the side impact air bags.

I assume you're kidding but either way it is NO WHERE NEAR 200 pounds, you could take a loaded 4LT automatic convertible and it still wouldn't/couldn't be 200 pounds more than a zero option 1LT manual coupe (automatics do weigh more than manuals and 'verts weigh slightly more than coupes of course).

I think you may be close but don't forget about a Z51 package. That's probably 50 lbs alone. Bigger rotors, oil cooler, tranny cooler and the associated plumbing.

Good points, and I thought about the side impact air bags but didn't see them listed so I thought they might be STD now.

I agree with the 30 - 50 lb delta - max.

That's in the range of what 4-5 gallons of gas weighs And then there's the driver deflabulation mod which could shave 20 to 100 lbs
