160 stat

can i put in a 160 thermostat without having to program the car, would it hurt anythiing if i didn't program it

It will aloow the car to run as low as 176 at cruise speeds but will not have the benefit at idle if the fan is not programmed for faster speeds per coolant temperature. The C6 fan comes on at 192 and cannot be changed in the tune for a lower temp start. It can be increased in speed at all temps though. Some have installed a switch with a speed control for the hottest of climates.

If you have a predator or a programmer of some kind,you can adjust the fans to come on at different %'s and keep the temps near 200 +-,all day long sitting in traffic in 90 degree heat.
