How did you guys handle the window indexing?? Did you just have your tinter leave a bit of a Gap at the bottom so the tint won't fold up when the window indexes so you can get in/out or did you disable the index feature and remove the hard top so you can then get in/out of the vehicle without the window indexing? If you did the latter, how might I go about doing that? Thanks for any help, the car is going to the window tinter in 2hrs so ANY help would be great!
No gap, he'll do the entire window. I know they always say to not roll your window down for a day or so, but my guy said to not worry about the indexing, it will be fine. I took my top off just in case, but you can't prevent it from indexing as you get in and out of the car. I've never heard of anyone in any type of car that had a problem with it.
They guy should know that you can just stick something in the latch to simulate it closing, so that it will go all the way up while the door is open.
Guys, this is not the tinters first vette at all(although it may be his first C6, which is the first vette to get the window index feature). I haven't spoken with him too much in detail, these were questions that I just had based off of what little knowledge I had when it comes to tinting. I will drill him with the same questions when I got to drop the car off, but I wanted to be a little more informed for conversation purposes.
they will heat the top of the window to speed up the drying so it wont peal from window indexing. you can close the latch with your finger while the door is open to get the window to go up while the door is open. be sure to open the latch back up before closing door. hope your tinter knows how hard the back glass is on a c6 with all the curves. had mine done a few days ago. 15% on sides and back.

that's exactly the same thing my guy told me. Just had it done a couple months ago.
A little update. The car looks great. He even tinted the dot matrix and it looks great . He said he has his own technique for tinting dot matrix areas(he is on some tinting forums and compares notes with a lot of other people). Overall I am VERY satisfied for $150

Congrats on the tint My tinter stuck a screwdriver in the door lock to simulate door closed and the window went up.
My tinter used a small propane torch to heat the tint after it was applied to the window. It worked because I had no problems with the windows eating the top of the tint.
