Default which headers to use?

I have a '05 C6 A4 Z-51. i already have the corsa sport catback set-up and a vararam intake. i'm looking to put headers w/ high flow cats on. not really sure what will work best w/ what i already have.

any input on what will work (fit) for my c6.

Well since you have an Auto and just some bolt ons, you should stay with the 1 3/4" primaries headers.

Makes out there:

LG Pro and Street Long Tubes
Kooks LTs
American Racing Headers
Stainless Steel Works

Had I known that LG had their Street Series in, I would have ordered it. I have on order KooKs 1 3/4" with 3" - 2.5" offroad x-pipe along with the O2 extensions.

This system will hook-up to my Borla Stingers. I have a Predator tuner so I can modify my tune for the headers and the off road x-pipe.

My goal is to build a good performance machine with heads and cam to finish things off.

I just put on Melrose Headers and it comes with hi flo cats, X-tube, and is jet hot coated. It's a mild steel vs. stainless steel and seems to vent heat better. They look awesome and will continue to look that way for years to come too and are warranted for as long as you own the car. Mild steel has less tendency to flex at the flange according to the manufacturer and therefore crack as some do. Check out their website and form your own opinion. The headers mentioned in the above post are also excellent. Stay with the known brands and you should be fine. I put these on my 07 A6 vert. Good luck.

In addition to the ones metioned, Dynatech also makes a good header.
This forum is very high on LG headers made by Borla. The other forums seem to favor American Racing headers, especially for the 2008 LS3 D-
port exhaust.
All of the long tube headers will perform very closely. I would shop around and see who offers the best pricing with or without cats and then decide.

Here's one you won't see every day ... I have AR's and, if doing over, would definitely have used LG's.

But i had AR headers installed, fit and finish was perfect, i gained 30hp and 24ft lbs with a tune.

But any of the top names will do fine.

Remember no headers are CARB approved. You have a California smog inspection coming soon. Some inspection stations don't look for them so check them out first.

Is it hard to find one that doesn't check?

Actually Kooks makes a hi flow cat (#6155CC) for the Corsa Sport which specifically hooks up to your existing Corsa Sport X or H pipe. So you just need Kooks headers (#6600-EX) and that Kooks/Corsa Cats...which will save you some money, as you dont need a Kooks X pipe. I just got both plus free jet hot 1700 extreme coating and free shipping for $1381 from forum vendor MarylandSpeed.

my vote is the AR, called them direct $1495 with cats and L92 flanges, fit and finish was perfect, installed without any effort and plenty of room to spare for all wires and other parts. very happy with product!
