Default Help me with upgrades!

This is my first post and I am now the proud owner of a "08 AW vette. I opted for the base suspension for the softer ride and the longer thread wear tires. However, I would like to do some upgrading to this car. Can someone give me advise on the better brake rotors out there? I want to go the the drilled/slotted look and add the Red Calibers. Also, what sway bars should I opt for? Is there much difference between the Z-51 and the Z06 bars? Thanks for any input on this and any other upgrading advise you may give.

You can get a Z51 brake package for aroudn 500 bucks and Z51 bars for under 200 (new)

The difference in Z51 and Z06 swaybars is in the rear bar, and I would NOT put a rear Z06 bar on with the stock-width tires...would cause a ton of oversteer.

If you are just going for looks and want to keep the stock calipers, just powder coat them or paint them yourself. Very easy to do. As for the rotors, you should upgrade them to the eradispeed if you are going to change them to anything. Dont waste the money for the drilled stock ones when you can get the 2 piece coated and larger rear rotor. But they are more money.

Correct me if I'm wrong but aren't you trying to put together a Z51 anyway???. My last three vettes were Z51 packages and they aren't a harsh ride at all. It seems to me that you could have saved yourself alot of time and trouble if you would have just ordered the Z51 to start.
BTW the two piece rotors mentioned on this thread are like
$890 a pair. Add in calipers, sway bars bushings etc, and the $1695 Z51option is going to sound like a steal.

Maybe he ought to trade it back in for a Z51...

Keep the standard brakes. Get GM performance rotors for a C5, about $75 each and interchangeable with the non Z51 C6 brakes, and they are cross drilled, directional and plated. Then do my powdercoated caliper exchange for $200 and you will have a nice looking brake setup.
