I'm going to install a set of Flowmasters on my 08 M6 this weekend. Didn't find too many threads on install tips. Is it necessary to remove the H pipe to get the exhaust in? Any other tips? Thanks in advance.
Drop the rear sway bar.
Drop the H-pipe
Note that you need to loosen the little springy wires
Then carefully feed the exhaust cans over the rear axel and you're good to go.
It's very easy, as far as the installation, you'll want to have a second pair of hands when you go to connect the exhaust, because it's hard to hold and torque wrench without shouting and blue language.
In any event it's a two to three beer job, and dozens of smiles.
That video helped me a lot. It was however a real PIA to get the over axle pipes fitted into the stock H-pipe and everything tightened back up. Of course I only had the car up on ramps and was laying on my back.
