I'm also wondering if that since I had the car dropped a little on the stock bolts if it affected the weight transfer to the rear during launch costing me 60ft times. Anyone have input on this?
I didn't notice any less weight transfer when I lowered mine all the way and cut the stock bushings. It still squats pretty well, see for yourself.
It's a good looking and good running car. There is a video of my convertible posted by 11 second mama earlier in this thread. It's good to see other verts in the 11's

Thanks! Yours too. Saw the vid and the speed, I can't believe you have such great results from Cam only. You are banging some gears out there. I've been trying to fight off the cam bug for months now, your posts aren't helping!

Sorry! It was well worth the money! My signature contains all the different mods I have had to my car. I am very happy with the results. The video was on the stock run-flat tires so I know that there is more to be had. My only complaint about the cam is the slight surge below 1500 RPM on the highway and at very low speeds in parking lot situations.
Well...until this thread I was feeling pretty good about my Jan times(12.0's-12.1's) and not overly bad about my April times, but after seeing what Joe_G and Wa$nt Me are doing with similar or less mods, I'm pretty upset with my runs now. I have to stay out of this thread until I get something worth posting,or it'll drive me nuts.

Well, don't despair - we have 6 speeds and once you learn to launch a 6 speed, a 1.6 or 1.7 60 ft goes a long way toward that 11 second slip. Plus Wasn'tme must be really able to bang gears, must be powershifting to get 125 cam only. My buddy, who is an excellent driver, can get 126 on a 440 rwhp Z06 but he uses drag radials and is the king of powershifting. Wasn'tme is on runflats! That is amazing.
I think you'll notice on the best times list above that the other fast bolt on guys have stall converters. If you put one of those in your 6 speed I would bet you would see some 11.7's if not 11.6's. People say .1 off the 60 equals .15 off the et, I haven't seen that exact ratio but the 60 foot is really where it happens.

Oh yes, a higher stall in the new A6 could make for some stellar launching with the right tire on there.
.1 off your sixty foot could be up to .25 (some say .3 ) off the final ET I think, sixty foot is that critical.

The rule I learned years ago is .1 off your sixty is .15 off your et. I have never heard more than this and I know from experience its for sure not .3 tenths.

Yeah I might be mixing it up with weight reduction calculations or something, was a rough morning LOL...I'm going to delete that part of my post.

Thanks for the compliment my convertible brother!! I have a little experience banging gears and I'm pretty consistent once I learn a particular car. The run in the video was the first time at the track and the fourth run with the current mods, I was very pleased! I would have bought back in after my breakout but I boiled the fluid in my clutch and I was afraid to break the car since it was my way home. I'm working on a better clutch setup so I can hotlap at will. Do you have any suggestions??

The two 6 speed guys that I know that drag race the most, Retrotech (440 rwhp 11.12@126) and me (basically stock), both use stock clutches and pay attention to the Ranger recommended clutch fluid changes. I do mine about every other week and it stays clean now. Took a few times doing it every day to get it clean. I'd try that first since it's free. Mike Norris, a well recommended tuner on this board, recommended a C5 Z06 clutch for my H/C C5 (404 rwhp) and I never had any trouble with it on many passes.
I've seen guys go through a bunch of clutches in our Corvette Challenge. In my observations, the Aussie clutch seems pretty good for H/C cars. One guy has a Cartek and it seems good too.
You can add me to the list now, i finally ran the 1/4 best time is 12.522@115.26 mph and my 1/8 is 8.215@89.57 mph with bolt ons.Kooks 1 3/4 Headers/Kooks Cats and X-pipe,160t-stat,Vararam,Rt.66 catback, and Cartek Dyno tune .
