Default I Pod & Corvette

Is there a piece available for direct I Pod connection? I want to stay away from the FM modulators and other sound degradation connections. Thanks in advance for the input.

This appears to do what you need unless you have the "base" radio. It works with the 6CD and NAV radios.......

I have one and love it. You can control it through the ipod directly, or used the radio preset stations to create a couple different playlists.

That's what I did for my 06. Took maybe an hour to swap out, then a quick trip to the dealer, where they unlocked the newly installed 08 radio. They didn't even charge me, so I bought the guys in the service area pizzas for lunch.

Bose or base radio?

I just bought a base 08 radio to replace my base 06 radio.

I have one.
Install is very easy, even for someone as clueless as I am.
Product works ok. Sounds is very good. Control and display can be a little glitchy at times, but it does the job.
For the price (on ebay) and given the lack of other options, I'd say go for it.

I see that the unit does NOT work with the iPhone

FYI all of my IPod gadgets (5th gen 30GB) that I have plugged into my IPhone have worked fine. The IPhone will sometimes display a message that the item is not specifically compatible and would I like to go to airplane mode (to which I usually say NO), but it works fine.

DISCLAIMER: I'm not advising you to try it. I have tried it on my various accessories and have no issues (including my alpine radio in my Jeep via the IPod adapter).

What does an 08 radio cost? I may want to go this route.

I went looking for someone replacing theirs with a new one and got it for $150. I think that is a fare price for both parties.

Troll the C6 Parts for sale, and you'll find someone with a 2008 radio for sale- that's how I found mine, and your price sounds about right.

I did not need any info from the seller, but my Dealer that I work with is pretty laid back, and just said "no problem, you're all set".

Probably best to have your seller's info with you when you go for the unlock on the new radio.

Here is a tip I can offer: Circuit City iPod adaptor: $25.00
Same thing at Wal-Mart, but called a "Headphone Extension Cord" $4.97
Made by Belkin.

It's a 3 foot cord. Save yourself the $20 and go to Wally World.

Am I missing something here? Does the 08 radio have an aux imput or something?
