DIC says "Low Oil Pressure"
This started yesterday---
Start the car up and the DIC says Low Oil Pressure and the oil pressure gauge sits at 0. The idiot light does not light up.
When I start the car the oil gauge goes all the way up then returns and sits at 0. Had the oil changed (royal purple) 300 miles ago. Dip stick indicates oil at proper level.
Yesterday, after a few minutes the pressure returned, today, it's sitting at 0.
Several conclusions:
1. sending unit is bad
2. oil gauge is bad
3. oil pump is bad
What to do:
drive it to my shop Horsepower Sales about 10 miles from home,
or,
have it flatbedded there?

Thanks.
Two of the 3 won't kill ya. The third is engine destructive.
Wouldn't the lifters be clattering if there was indeed a bad pump??
If the idiot light didn't come on I'm thinking it is the gauge or an intermittent electrical connection.

You are probably right - but the cost of being wrong is high.....
There is a fourth possibility, that your oil pressure bypass (in the block) has debris in it and it is "stuck" partially open. Unfortunately, you have to disassemble past replacing the oil pump to see this (and this is almost to the point of replacing the cam).

A couple of the guys from Horsepower Sales (Jeremy and Tim) came to the house to check this out. Their initial guess is a bad sensor. Car just left, flatbed, for their shop. They will swap one out as soon as it gets there and let me know if it was, I hope, a simple fix.
Thanks, that is exactly what they did when they were at the house. The car is now at their shop and they're going to swap out the sensor from another C6 to see if that is the issue.
