A4 transmission
one day I started car, put in gear and the car started in 3rd gear. it did not start in 1st gear. no downshifts or upshifts. it felt the same as if you would put a manuel transmission in 3rd gear and drove it without changing gears. condition did not change till i got home and turned ignition off. now everything is back to normal with normal shift changes. only did this once. hoping to bring it in to dealers once the snow clears. what could have possibly caused this? any suggestions?
