Default Brakes

I have an 06 vert without the z51 package. I want to upgrade the brakes for possibly some light autox. Should I get a z06 setup, an aftermarket or the the stock setup off a z51?

Z51 pads would be a sufficient upgrade for autocross. If you wanted a little more, then ss lines and better fluid

depending on how lightly you autocross (is there really such a thing?),fluid and lines become very important. the best calipers, rotors and pads in the realm will do little if the fluid is boiled and lines are ballooning.

you'll find out if you push it hard enough. good to start out with the pads.

and with the proper mods (and driver training) stock can be good enough for the Nurburgring.

You might also try C5 Z06 pads (they fit the C6 brakes). I've had good luck with that combo with autox.

These changes will make a HUGE difference over the stock Z51 brakes without "breaking the bank."

Thanks all. Lines and fluids are a must. I will do the pad change and see how that works for me to start. Thanks for all the responses.
