Default 6K are you sure?

Advise?

'07 LS2 M6 Coupe with 3.42 rear end at 1500 miles.

LG coated headers with hi-flow cats a 3" x-pipe into stock mufflers, insulated tunnel, Haltech Venom and 3.90 gears. Of course a dyno before and dyno and tune after for $6000.00 all labor, material and taxes. Could my money be better spent?

No specific application, just for fun.

Thanks!

Seems expensive to me. I got my headers, cats, x-pipe, CAI r and tune installed for about $2500. I don't know what gears insulated tunnel run but don't think it should be $3700.

Check the Lingenfelter and 21st Century Muscle car websites. They have packages quoted. Not the same thing, but you should get some idea of what things cost.

Well headers installed should be about 2200-2300 for the lg's. Figure another 300-400 for the intake and the gears are the only item that is suspect. Does it include a heavy duty output shaft, heavy duty clutches or OEM stuff on the inside? A nice gear pack is 2500 installed with the output shaft replaced. That's pretty competitive.

So $6000 is not to far from reality as long as they are the right parts.

You could go cheaper, AR 1 3/4" headers without cats installed with a tune for $2000, I've seen that deal before. Add the gears and intake for 3K, and you save a thousand bucks. If it is just a bolt in rear with no heavy duty output shafts or clutches you can get it down closer to 4k.

Seems expensive to me...headers 2000, just gears about 1300..thats what I spent on my first round of mods. Checkout cartek.net. They are a supporting vendor and have prices online for several of their upgrade packages.

Thanks guys, the gears w/heavy duty clutchs are $2000, tunnel heat shield was $400. The quote was good precise with complete break down but the reason I am questioning was the material. Every item that was listed was $150-200 more than listed from the vendors on CF. Not apposed to paying for what I'm getting, I've bought cheep before:-(

If I hade $6000 to spend should I spend it on the engine itself?

The big variable is the gearset. Check out DTE for some idea of what buys what.... http://www.dynotech-eng.com/dte_c6_diff.htm

Someone will always get a better deal than you, so if you are comfortable with the shop and believe it to be fare, do it.

Don't know anything about the shop it was my first stop and I gave the guy my wish list. Not finding many specialty shops in the Denver area.

Pretty sure I can do this stuff my self, time is money and I am willing to pay for the install but, will still need a good tune.

Thanks for the feed back

for another two grand do a supercharger installed?

personally I say leave the car alone but if your spending 6 grand? spend an extra two and get the thing supercharged by one of the vendors on this site.

Experience would be key.

Good luck and imo leave it stock and take driving education courses and have fun..
