Default FAST INTAKE/CAM ONLY Combo

Heys guys, I was reluctant to do a search on this topic because I just wanted any update on the FAST INTAKE/Cam combo without heads, dyno number results. Seems like this combo is somewhat close or close enough to the HEAD/CAM package. Just want to save a couple of dollars and use it elsewhere on the car. It's income tax return time and it's time to waste some money. Has anyone done this particular combo up to date? I would gladly appreciate your response.

G-Force just did a ZO6 78mm Fast intake, Kooks 1 7/8" headers, self ported 78mm TB and cam producing 450rwhp. Stock 243 heads and lower end. I can put you in contact with Mike if you want to discuss the cam details. It's a high lift (.600) plus cam on 112 LSA withdual springs and Titanium retainers.

Was this on an LS2? Just curious as to why he would drop from a 90mm FAST/TB to a 78mm?

Thanks Lance,

450 rwhp is what I was looking for. I already have the Melrose 1 7/8", ported intake/TB, VaraRam, and tune....making 378/366. 430-450 rwhp is an ample amount for me. Of course, I would have the FAST intake ported. After examining the 1/4 mile list, it appears that the cam only cars are right there or not far behind with the head/cam cars....could be a driver's race between the two cars. Also, I guess it all depends on your particular application/set up and tuner. Maybe I just want to be a little different from others. I can always install the aftermarket heads later if need be.

sounds like your looking for my combo.

Vararam
Stainless works headers
F.A.S.T- not ported
ported TB
cam only- small sized cam I bought used
UD pulley

430ish rwhp tuned

runs handle to handle with my buddies tuned C6Z making 474rhwp from a 40roll.

I have been very impressed by the power of my setup. I will say that I had the cam prior to the FAST and the car was a slouch against my buddies C6Z. Pre- FAST he would get me by 2 cars off the jump. Post- FAST we are neck and neck and we use the same tuner.

Default cam and fast manifold

Id say with that combo youll put out sufficient power mid 400s for sure...just finished my Stage 3 head/cam install and put out 470 to the ground w/ oem manifold...im waiting about a month or two until i order the fast manifold and ported TB...Ill post up numbers once thats done to give you an idea on what you'll put out.

I have a fast unported, large cam, headers and 4.10 gears putting down 455 at wheels. Even with 345 ps2 tires traction is a very hard to come by.

Just curious, how small was your cam? Nice combo and this is where I want to be. Thanks for you invaluable input.
