Default Help with code

I am getting code P0803 and I believe it might have something to do with CAGS but I'm not sure. Anyone know how to go about fixing it. It just came on the other day. I've had the car over 2 weeks and nothing until now. Thanks. -Chris

Hi Chris

I agree - I believe that's a code for the CAGS solenoid.

Well.....did you recently put on a skip-shift eliminator or pull a fuse to try to disable it?

If you haven't put on a skip-shift eliminator maybe the previous owner did. Or maybe he took one off and the plug is loose.

Either way, if there's no eliminator perhaps the wire harness plug that plugs into the solenoid is loose and simply wiggling it and making sure it's properly connected.

If there is a skip-shift eliminator, likewise check the connections.

Also, if there's a skip-shift eliminator, check out this thread:

Good luck,

Bob

Thanks Bob. I think there might be a skip shift eliminator on the car. Now that you mention it, I haven't once had it kick in and pull into 4th instead of 2nd. But the CAGS light still comes on, will the eliminator do that?

No, you have to "tune" it. Either a tuner or a Preditor can turn off the light. If you do with a tune, you don't need the CAGS eliminator because it will be turned off in the computer.

So then it is possible that I do have a CAGS eliminator since the CAGS light still comes on? I'd like to take the eliminator off if there is one, how would I go about checking it?

Go back by the trans on the drivers side and it is marked. If there is a connector that doesn't look like it belongs, it has one.
