Default Shift Light

I bought the raptor shift light ready for the install! I took the time and read all the post on it but, I want to tap into the cluster if possible? A few people said there is a wire behind the tach (white wire) I had noticed there is 2 white wire's well (white kinda yellowish) or is a WHITE wire closer to the speedo? Just wanted to get a better clarification.

Thanks for the help in advance!

I also have a raptor light I want to install, but I am not sure which route to take on the hookup. I think the way you want to do it would be best. It would be nice to see a picture from someones install.

I was thinking of going with the Raptor RPM switch wired to one of their warning lights. It seems like it would make it easier to install "stealth" because you can basically the light is a lot smaller. Has anyone done it this way?

No there is. My friend wanttospeed here on the forum did mine, you could pm him or perhaps search the C5 tech forum. I'm sorry but I don't know what color the wire is.

I installed my Raptor Light today, I still need to hook up the power, ground and tach wires. I mounted it in the same place as Shockerracing did. I am going to try and find the OFF WHITE wire near the fuse box on the pass side floor to hook up the Tach and I am going to use the Add-A-Circuit OFHM0200ZP from autozone (thanks Pat for this info) to hook up the power and will ground at the fuse box area. I hope I can find the Tach wire.

I installed my shift light on my gauge pod. I have no pics yet to show but, I did find that off white wire that was mentioned! The install went great but still haven't tested yet! Since October the car has been under construction with many mods that I've been doing. Just last week I finally finished my car then took it to a local dyno shop for tunning. I had asked the dyno shop to see if the shift light works and also set it for me. I will let you know when it gets done ;>)

Did you hook up the tach wire next to the fuse box?
I am wondering if it would be easier to find the tach wire at the dash.
The cable looks like it is a PITA to get to at the fuse box on the pass side.

I thought about installing it next to the fuse box but, changed my mind real quick. The wire just looked to long & didn't want to find a place to route it either. Once I removed the cluster pulled some insulation off then it was a DONE DEAL!

If I remember correctly

1) Pull on the bezel slowly without breaking the clips (4)
2) Unplug 2 or 3 switches (PITA) 1 on the left and 2 on the right I think!
3) once thats done there is 4 (7mm) bolts that hold the cluster in!
4) look the that off white wire thats the signal wire
5) ground it (black wire)----12v red wire you can probably tap into the cig lighter or where ever you prefer!

Let me know how it goes! My instructions are not the best but once you start digging in you will figure it out!
