You'll be hard pressed to keep it under 70 if on the highway. I kept speeds under 70, shifted under 3500, and didn't use cruise. The idea is to keep stress levels low to the driveline to allow driveline gear faces and other frictional surfaces to mesh.
Drive it like its meant to be driven. Driving it hard right off the bat will not hurt it. I am quite sure these engines are tested at the factory before they put them in the car. And by testing I mean several high rpm blasts, to make sure that everything is ok.

Juast take it easy as long as you can stand it. A few heat-cold cycles during this time would be good too; i.e., several shorter trips, rather than one 500 mile trip. Enjoy the car!
