There are two fuel lever sensors, one in each tank. The passenger tank empties first, so when the gauge shows 1/2 tank, your passenger tank is empty and the drivers side tank is full.
quick question so if the gauge is below half, does this mean when you refill, the gas goes straight to the empty passenger tank or pushes the gas from driver side tank and transfer it to the empty passenger side then fills up the driver side?
reason why i ask because my fuel gauge read close to 1/4 full and when i refilled it, it only took almost 4 gallons and shut the pump off and it also overfilled and now the gauge reads full! i thought it should take more than 4 gallongs to refill a 1/4 full to 100% full, not unless the reading is not accurate?
i just want to make sure my gauge is reading the gas content properly and hope it's not defective or my tank is not defective either. prior to this car was sitting in the garage for a whole week w/ almost 1/4 gas in it.
