2) There are acrylic kits out there that are being sold for about 100 bucks that are designed for the C6. I can't think of them off the top of my head right now, but I've seen them a couple times before.
I had my side markers done through http://jonstintedtails.com/....havent got a chance to take them out of the boxes yet but I havent heard anything bad about his work. I have the acrylic tail light pieces and they leave a lot to be desired, Ill probably end up sending my tail lights off to him as well
I have used a spray paint (no flaming please) that had red tint flake to it (invisible to naked eye) and when applied to taillights, they still lit up brightly but were completely blacked out when taillights werent on. It looked as good as the acrylic covers at a fraction of the cost. I think it costs 9 bucks for the can and it would easily 2 or 3 cars taillights. I will see if I can find the name.
Here it is, nite shades. Dont pay too much attention to the pics as I am not painter but was able to make my taillights look as shiny and smooth as the acrylic ones.
Here a site on how to paint your lights to black them out or smoke them. You can use VHT can of paint $14.95 part #sp999 call and order it from any paint retailer. Then you clear them..the more clear the better the protection and "factory" look..
theres a deal going on in c5 for sale section right now from Tyler@StealthVettes (i think thats his username). he does tinted taillights and its a trade for your stockers for 160$ i believe.
i was thinking of doing the nightshades, but in actuality its alot of work and you in fact can mess them up. to me, i'm all for doing it myself, but when it cost more to do it myself than to buy something, i'll choose the latter. go with the above mentioned, they support vettes too, so that a plus.
He's a local guy too... just up the road from us. Nice guy, good service. Gave me the idea for cutouts.
To lower the C6 all you need is a couple of jack stands, a jack, and a 10mm wrench. The front is the same as the C5 and will lower a lot - the rear works just like the front, turn the in the adjuster screw counterclockwise. Use stands to keep the car off the ground, and use the jack to take the pressure off the spring so it will turn easier.
The rear will not lower much without cutting the bushing. Maybe 1/2". Horsepowersales in Pompano cut 1/2 of my rear bushings for me, it's just easier on a lift. Front lowers a lot without cutting the bushings. I'm lowered about 1" all the way around.
If you can make it we have a big Vette car show drag race Saturday at 4:30 at Moroso to send off the old track before it's torn down to be redone. You can see some lowered C6's there.
