Default Plastic piece under front bumper

I have a std C6, non-Z51, I just noticed today that the plastic piece below the front bumper actually consist of 3 pieces, and the right piece seems disconnect from the center piece (maybe due to scraping low bump). Any suggestion, should I fix this or this happened to all C6?

Thanks

happens to my car all the time. I have a z-51 but think the front bottom piece is the same. I have a driveway that slopes down to the garage and it drags most every time I have considered taking it off completely. I havent because I dont know if there are any negatives to it. Anyone else chime in here ?

The "air dam" channels cold air up to your air filter, thus your engine. It serves a useful purpose and without it you may cause excess engine heating.

Its held in with a "push pin" they come apart all the time. No need to worry at all!~ Just pop your head under there and the pin is probably still attached the the outer piece. Just push it back in. If its gone, stop by any parts store, Autozone, Advanced, whatever and look in the "Help" section. Lil red blister packs of junk. They will have the plastic dealios.

As far as taking it off I wouldn't. It helps draws air over the radiator. When you scrape it so what? Its flexable and cheap if you want to get a new one when you trade it in or whatever. You are not hurting the car. Let it scream for mercy. Look at the bright side, at least you are not scraping the bumper. Don't sweat it. If it makes you feel better, order a new one from GM now and have it sitting in the box and scrape hell out of your old one. Its theraputic. Freedom brother! Drive.

I've read that the two outer pieces can be removed without any issues. It's the center section that moves air into the radiator bay. I know that a few have simply cut an inch or so off the bottom, too, with zero problems.

I run without the two outside pieces and have no cooling issues whatsoever. If I was planning on running at speeds of over 140 to 150 I would seriously think of putting them back on as they channel the air around the outsides of the car instead of letting it under the car where it can provide lift.

You can buy all three pieces from GM for about $50.

Thanks to all the input, I just fixed the air dam, they are easy to put back as long as they are still in 1 piece.

Gorilla tape? I wouldn't do it cause mine has never separated but it would hold it together, even if yuo hit bumps...
