I've used it on offroad bicycles (preventative) and heard of it used on motorcycles. But it makes a HUGE mess when time comes to change the tire. Some people will refuse to work on a wheel that has it in there. Its NOT for runflats. And I have NO IDEA what it would do the the pressure sensors..............
as for my take on run flats,
they suck. i got a flat when i was 200 miles from home. so i call and went to the closest Goodyear dealer and said i have a flat run flat. his response was sorry we can't patch them. OK fine i will buy a new tire. OK we will have to order it. could take a week or you could go to the tire shot down the road aka (Sandoval's tacos and tires) and they will patch it. they did but i was scared for my car.
so i would like to have another option when i travel. any other ideas?
My '07 MX5 came with a kit just like that ... FROM THE FACTORY. No sensors, no spare of any type, just a little kit on the bulkhead of the (tiny) trunk. Tool for removing the stem, a thing of slime and a mini cigarette lighter-plug-in compressor! What a piece of junk. Uhm, IMHO!
I had a flat of my C5 run flat. Nail in tire tread. Went to a Goodyear dealer and they removed the tire from the wheel, patched the inside and used heat to vulcanize the patch to the rubber. Good as new!

Run-flat tires are no different than non run-flats when it comes to patching. As long as you haven't driven too far/too fast which can damage the sidewall, or the puncture is not too close to the shoulder, the tire can be patched just like a regular one.

all the tire dealer i have talked to here say no they will not patch. insurance issues
The Slime works great in my garden tractor tires, but would not recomend it for Vette tires. Your tire guy will be totally pissed off
when he has to break the tire down to replace it.
When I had a nail pucture in my RR the tire store used what they call
a plug patch, it has a stem coming off the patch that pulls through the hole the nail made. 3K later no problems, believe it or not it was a Big O
Tire Store that did the repair. They even made sure the valve stem was torqued to spec.

PLEASE LISTEN TO ME
CALIFORNIA WHERE I LIVE WILL NOT PATCH A RUN FLAT
i hope that clears that up now.
also i don't care if my tire guy is pissed he has to clean out slime. thats better then me being stranded on the side of the road with a flat run flat that came apart. since i was more then 50 miles from any thing. wow
i have also read some where that slime is water soluble so clean up should be easy and not destroy the sensor

Damn sorry I blew up, it's your car you do what ever you want.
Not all Goodyear dealers are certified to fix their runflats, you can call Goodyear and they should name one in your area. If they don't name any at all, that's what we call a "clue". But I have not heard about a blanket "no runflats fixed in California" policy. Hope it's not true.
I hope your right and its not true. i know that the 5 Goodyear dealers i call said no way. 1 a friend of mine called the district office and said sorry. we can warranty it at 50% new tire cost of $864.00 so if you hear different let me know.
