I put on a much improved MSD wire's. I wasn't too impressed years
ago. Now they are really a nice wire. 40 ohm's per foot 8.8 mm
Retain stock sheilds.Postive clic on both ends.Mostly noticed better starting. You will hear a
lot of blah blah about wires. But they are a extension of the coil. They for sure don't hurt.Thats why GM mounted 8 coils
on the motor. To shorten the wire. They created a better Ignition.
Better wire's let more energy through the wire. Plugs are fine! But I widened my gaps to .042 from the .038-.039
factory gap.Bend the hook, don't use the gauge to spread the gap. Only to check, the irridum is easy to daamge

was it to create a better spark, or was it to control the engine at each cylinder through the pcm

Yes, to control the spark firing to the appropriate cylinder electronically instead of mechanically (distributor).

Are you going turbo or supercharger? If yes than buy a good set of low resistance wires and get some colder plugs when you go boosted. If you want to run alot of boost than get MSD coils. If you're staying N/A save your money there is better things you can spend your money. IMHO the HP you MAY get isnt worth the added EMF. Also if your dealer isnt mod-friendly they may try to stick you with any problems with the car down the road.

Also I have MSD coils and wires and NGK plugs with a .40 gap. But I plan to go boosted. Also I get horrible EMF in my radio (it really got bad when I moved the battery into my trunk)

By ACDELCO are you saying your OEM ones are bad and you want to go with ACDELCO again? If your OEM ones are bad I would get a aftermarket ones because they do help, on your average car a new set of plug wires will give you about 0.4% to 0.5% increase. (This is just what I observed on multiple cars) The whole ignition systen gave me 6 whp but this is because even with a good tune and a normal (12.5) a/f ratio i wasnt burning enough all the fuel and I was shooting fireballs out of my exhaust all over the place. The MSD system now burns all my fuel and i do make more power but unfortunetly I dont get to shoot big ***** of fire anymore, only little ones when I shift.

Default Nology

Nology plugs and wires. Better throttle response - seems a bit quicker since change. Found on Ebay for decent price.

I have a set of callaways on my car. The only benefit I saw is the boot is much smaller and is not near as close to my header primary tube as the stock bulbous boot was. Oh and the wire has a protective shield around the outside of it for heat resistance. I don't believe there is anything to be had performance wise.

Bad at 33k, I would doubt it. The factory stuff is better than that. Should go twice as much, IMO.
