Default Halltech Venom Installation

For anyone that has installed the Halltech Venom, any advice you can give on what to be sure to do and not to do? I am thinking about attempting to do this install myself. However, I have zero mechanical skills, but am thinking I should perhaps try this one and maybe just learn something along the way. Of course, with my 10 thumbs I'm concerned I'll screw something up. Like, over tightening a screw or not tightening it enough. How do you know when it is enough, etc? Little things to those who have done mechanical work, but roads untraveled for the rest of us. So, if you have any ideas, tips, etc., I would appreciate hearing from you. Thanks! Dan

Did you ever install it? Are the Venom Intakes easy to remove and restore to stock? I saw it requires heating of the duct to install on to the MAF. Can it be removed?

I used a hair dryer for the heat and it was enough.

The install is very easy. The hardest part for me was that I removed the shroud in front of the radiator for the cold air cut outs but 1) its optional but since I also installed the Beehive at the same time I thought it would be better and 2) you can do the cutouts while it is on the car. I just thought it would make for cleaner cuts with it removed.

The one thing that I wish I would have done would be to put the filter itself in the shroud, then install the coupler and air bridge to the throttle body before hooking the air filter to it. If you don't the fit is tight.

Good luck and I think you will like it. I have been running mine for the last 5 months or so with no issues.

The halltech was a super easy install. If you can take your factory unit out you can easily put this one in.

If you had all the parts, could you remove the halltech and install the orignal back with no issues? Especially removing the MAF.

Yes easily. The halltech requires no altering of your factory system unless you choose to cut holes in the shroud for more air.

I have a question reguarding the installation of the new honeycomb for the MAF sensor.

How do you uninstall the stock honeycombs and install the new one? There is NOTHING about it on the horribly hard to read and poorly put together for a newb instruction manual.

Thanks,

Mike
