Sound advice requested on mods
I want to add headers, X pipe and a centrifugal supercharger to my 06 vert. I currently have Borla Sport (aka Stinger) cat back exhaust and a Hurricane air box. I'd like to know the opinions of those of you that have added a centrifugal supercharger as to which one is better and should it be intercooled. As for headers, I want long tubes with cats. Also, will the A6 trans hold up to the extra hp and torque? Would I need to add stiffer gears to the rear? I'm leaning towards the centrifugal supercharger so I can keep the stock appearance on the outside. Thanks for any and all inputs.

I am interested in hearing sc comments a s well.
my concern sc vs cam and heads is that sc may be overkill on the vert as sc would just overpower the street tires and may be too much for daily driving
A Vert weighs more than a Coupe. Power is modulated with the right foot. runutzzzzz has a TT vert with nearly 600 rwhp and he does ok
I would consider TT over S/C since you can control the power through the range with a good boost controller. Whatever you do defintely intercool it, will make a huge difference. As for exhaust changes, I don't even know if I would bother. They will give you a little more power, but if your supercharging, probably not worth the money.
I have a C6 A6 with a Vortech supercharger. I have a very mild tune therefore I am putting down about 500rwhp. Mine is a DD and it drives like any other C6.
I think 500 rwhp is enough for anyone unless you are going to the track all the time. Right now, I need to put on drag radials for the track since the car will go sideways when shifting from 1st to 2nd.
I don't want anymore hp than what I have right now and can't even use all the HP. I have been told by a lot of people that 500rwhp should be no problem for the stock engine and trans.
The good thing about a Vortech Supercharger is that it is smog legal here in CA and if anything really bad happens, I can always have it taken off then take it to the dealer for repairs. Then after the repair, I can have the supercharger put back.
Turbocharger will probably give you more HP however, it is not smog legal, very expensive to remove, replace and also will probably put a lot more strain on your drive train since you will be putting out more HP.

Just my opinion.
Aren't turbo's more efficient for the engine though? and i'm sure there are (at least some) turbo kits that are smog legal... but generally, turbo's cost more.

Yes turbos are more efficiant there main problem is the initial cost ($9,000) and the much more involved and costly install of them.
Here are a couple dynos of my supercharged LS2.
It makes TOO much power LOL.
We had to let off because I didn't want it to blow up.
Such a fun street car and great power deliver. Stock cam gets 30 on the freeway and unleashes the fury with a flick of the throttle. Look at that Torque. : )
