Radio or Electrical Problem
I have a chronic radio or electrical problem that the dealerships can't seen to resolve. I have the base radio and intermittently you will hear a loud static/electrical pop, and the radio shuts off. Within a few seconds the radio comes back on. It's fine for a while (maybe 10 miles) and does it again. I've taken it to two different dealerships to get the problem resolved. They replaced the radio twice and the amplifier twice...problem continues. One service manager told me that this is a "known" problem with vettes, and there is not a fix for it. I asked if he would put that in writing, and of course he said all I can do it replace it again. Has anyone else had this problem? Is there a fix?

A loose wire?
I would think the first thing to look is a loose a ground wire.I have installed a few radios over the years and I would hear interference until I located the loose wire.Get under the dash and wiggle the wires.If you hear the interference I would bet its in the wiring.Maybe loose in the socket.Give it a try .You have nothing to lose except a few minutes and it may cure your problem.
