500HP is definetly reachable, just a matter of how wild you want to go with the build.

im trying to find out if a stock ls2 motor (crate) can generate 500 horsepower. the motor is in an sandrail application . no smog or catalytic stuff just headers. my buggy builder tells me that this motor with no smog stuff and buggy headers will produce the said 500 h.p..im a wonderin... any assistance with this would be greatly appreciated. thx

550hp at the crank, especially without the concerns involved with emissions devices or space limitations for the exhaust, is very attainable.Give Cartek Racing (www.cartek.net) a call and they can tell ya how to go about it.
