OK, I have finally come to the conclusion after reading all the input on the forum that living in the Northeast where good days to drive the Vette are sparse I must break down and use a battery tender (trickle charger) on my 2008. I know quite a few of you have experience with these and I would appreciate a recommendation as to how many amps a good battery tender should put out. Thanks to all for your help.
I'd agree with both of the above and also suggest your local auto parts store/chain where you can find a Schumacher battery tender at the $20-$25 level.
And note: it really isn't a trickle charger; it is a battery tender which is ostensibly different.
I have the CTEK 7000. Its a pulse charger and only sends a charge when the battery voltage falls below 12.9 volts. The charger measures the voltage every 10 minutes and does not send a charge to the battery unless it needs it.
