How much did your MPG go down after that cam? I want to do mild cam with bolt ons but dont want to lose to much gas milage like I did with my 02 Z28 went from 18 avg to 12-13 avg.

I've tracked every gallon of fuel put in my C6 since I got it almost 2 years ago over 20,000 miles. I daily drive the car on the same route 95% city traffic every day and drag race it once or twice a month, about 180 passes as I type this.

I've gone from bone stock to full boltons + cam in stages and tracked my rwhp, et and mpg in each stage. Thought this information might be useful or interesting to someone:

Bone stock:
3,967 miles, 38 passes, 12.970@109.98, 19.95 avg MPG

Vararam & ported intake:
separate mileage data not kept but best ET 12.570@112.00

Add headers, 3.90 gears and tune:
10,116 miles, 85 passes, 11.810@118.76, 18.94 avg MPG

Add G5x3 cam and thinner head gaskets to raise compression to 11.4:
5,855 miles, 54 passes, 11.619@121.19, 16.76 avg MPG

MPG effect:
1.00 decrease for gears/headers
2.19 decrease for cam compared to bolt ons only
3.19 decrease for cam and all mods from stock

I bought a mail order tune from Charlie at RPM Motors and self tweaked it and my car is a great daily driver even with the large g5x3 cam. With 436/392 rwhp/rwtq I am at the limit of the stock clutch. I had to remove the pedal spring to keep it from sticking down despite religious fluid changes.

My mileage went from 18 MPG to 15 MPG after I had my mods. done. I changed the cam, added double springs/push rods, CAI, headers, UD Pulley, 160 stat., and a tune. Most of the folks talk about gas mileage getting better after a mod. I was not so lucky. Maybe I keep my foot in it more now!
