Default Check Engine Light

Started the car today after 3 months in storage. Recently installed new Callaway plug wires. Check engine light was flashing. Discovered that somehow one of the upper coil wires had become disconnected. After replacement, light stopped blinking, but is still on. Will the light reset itself? Do I need to have it shut off with a diagnostic tool?

Thanks

It should eventually reset itself after a number of starts if the problem is truely fixed. You can get a scanner for less than 50 bucks if you just want to reset it.

Update:
Light went off after the third cold start. May still go for the scan tool though.

If all you want is to clear the CEL, just unplug the battery for 10 minutes and it will clear up. But if you want a scanner just to have one, here's a basic one for 80 bucks
