Default Halltech Killer Bee - Impressions?

How does the Killer Bee intake affect sound in the cabin? When I had my 350Z the aftermarket intake produced a significant increase in sound inside the cabin.

Any other general impressions, especially if used with the Vette Air would be appreciated.

I did use the search but most commentary is older. I would like some current input based on the LS3.

I've got the Killer Bee on my LS7 and do not have Vette Air, but there is absolutely no difference in sound.

For the Corvette, it's designed such that I don't think you'll notice any difference from stock, unless the one for the LS3 is a very different design than the one for the LS7.

BTW, I think it's a great intake.

I have it on my '08 LS3, but I had it installed at the same time, I had AR headers, and a Corsa Z06 exhaust installed, so I can't comment on the individual performance/sound difference. That said, it certainly doesn't seem to be hurting performance, that's for sure because my car is a screamer.

I have it on my LS3 as my first "mod".

I would only hear it at the top end (sucking sound at around 5k rpms). Now that I got a catback (Borla) I can't hear it at all

Its a good intake. It richens it up ~ .5 across the board, but in most cases, thats a good thing.

Interesting. I would have thought the opposite. More air in would lean things out a bit. Ah, what do I know.

I can't hear anything different unless the top is off. Then I can hear some faint whistle and whoooosshhh sounds. Just figured this out yesterday as it was the first day I had the top off since I installed the intake. FWIW, I leave my NPP open so the exhaust is a little louder than normal.

Man I remember back in the pre-Corvette days when I put new intake on a Turbo MR2. Holy crap that thing was LOUD and heard it in between every gear shift.....sorry got off topic.

I too had an MR2 Turbo once upon a time. I had an HKS intake and I know what you mean about the whooshing sound! It sounded like one of those riced up turbo imports that the kids put the blow-off valves on.

I have an 08 with the Killer Bee and Vette Air. I could hear it very faintly over stock, but I really had to listen for it. I too had a 350z with a JWT intake and know what you mean about the noise. The Killer Bee is MUCH quieter. When you get an exhaust, you wont hear it at all.

Thanks for the input, guys. It's funny how my mentality has changed a bit with the new vette. My previous perf cars were always modded with intake, exhaust, cats, suspension, etc almost right away. With the vette I hesitate to mess with it's out of the box perfection.

I bought a Killer Bee and Vette air while I waited for it to come in but now I am not sure I want to mess with it. I did the MGW shifter and a couple of subtle cosmetics and feel 100% satisfied with the car.
