Mods that increase airflow to the front of to the rear make the car lean at closed loop and richer at WOT (because closed loop fueling is measured and determines the amount of fule need added for safety at WOT. Having such mods as headers, CAI, heads, no cats, with no tune is a sure way to get a CEL.

Thanks for the quick reply and great info SpinMonster.

I should have mentioned this is on a BONE stock car with ZERO mods...

Any ideas please?

Sudden climate changes can do it as can prolonged cruise at high speeds in nuetral. Also, the car comes with lean closed loop fueling and rich WOT fueling from the factory. An air leak past the mass air sensor will have unmetered air and cause such a problem. Common places are where the hoses hook up to the intake tract and loose clamps on the ducts. A bad injector would also cause a lean condition only on the bank it is on. Bank 2 is the passenger side.

If you would put some bio info up, I can make some othe rrecomendations such as where to have it checked or if you were close to me, I can scan the car for free to tell you what is wrong.

Yup, listen to the man. I had a similar problem and Guy suggested the same thing, a leak somewhere aft of the MAF. Sure enough, I had a leak in my FAST manifold.
