Polished or Chrome wheels?

I agree that chrome is the way to go, but only if it comes that way from the factory. I had a set of wheels chromed at Calchrome and they pitted in just a few months. When I tried to make a claim six months after they were chromed there, the claim was denied because Calchrome does warranty against pitting. On their website they specifically state that there is no warranty against pitting and that brake dust can be a big cause of pitting.
That's right. Calchrome says that brake dust shouldn't come in contact with wheels that they've chromed or they may pit and you're screwed.
