Hi, Everyone
First off, I would like to thank all of you recommending the Vararam SC1cold air intake. I am very new to this forum. I have a 2007 C6 & just bought the Vararam SC1. I am not very mechanically incline. I have not the slightest idea how to install this unit. If any one has step by step instruction, pictures with instructions, or taken pictures of their Vette while installing the unit, please help. Or if anyone know of a good shop in the dallas/fort worth area, let me know. Thanks in advance for all those who reply. Thanh.

doesnt sound good to me when vararam industries themselves tell us to refer to write ups in the forum to assist with installing their product...shouldn't THEY provide adequate instructions?
Here's something I did on my car that makes it a better fit.
On the radiator cover, I milled a 3” by 4” pocket thru the top to allow the tube from the CAI kit to fit without hitting the hood. I also gives it a straight shot to the throttle body.
The cover removes with 4 bolts, took my 10 minutes to mill the pocket.
Sorry, I should have taken Pics before I put it back together.
First of all if you are a new member I would like to welcome you to CF.
Our folks here are nothing short of the best. You can find anything about your corvette here.
Now on the subject of the VR install its not so bad. The one thing that causes the most problems is the shroud. There are varying opinions on this and many threads. Here is what I would do.
1. Do not try to cut the shroud in the car. Remove it, there is a bunch of buttons & screws to be taken off but thats the best way to go.
2. When you have the shroud out use the template and remember that
the template wraps around the bottom and thats where you cut. When done the shroud will have a u shape with the bottom open. When you put it back in you will find that it still doesnt fit remove more shroud material until the vr filter box has about 1/2 " clearance on each side. Some have tried to cut the shroud in the car and some have punctured the condensor coil (radiator ) Its a matter of choice and mechanical abilities. What I descrived is the most conservative way.
The rest is very easy. Good luck, Leon
I slid a 1/8" sheet of Lexan behind the shroud before I cut it.
That way if I did slip up, I'd hit the Lexan doing NO damage to the radiator. It worked out well and I didn't spend a lot of time removing the shroud.
