Default Need Help Asap! Corsa Or Borla???

hey guys, new to the site, sorry if this is a repost of any sort.
I am ordering my new C6 Z51 and am having some mods done.
I am getting the Vararam snake charmer intake, Predator programmer, and Kooks headers. They recomended going with the corsa exhaust but im pretty set on Borla. ( i like the more aggresive sound) Now is the Borla stingers a full exhaust? Or do i need a X-Pipe? And will Borla go well with Kooks headers? I am looking for the most proformance with these mods.

thanks again for the help everyone! Any ideas and comments are appreciated

With either the Corsa or the Borla, you will not be using the x-pipe. Both brands give you the option of buying the exhaust with the x-pipe or without. If you are doing headers, save some money and order them without x-pipe. The headers come with their own x-pipe and you will have to use those instead. Either system will mate well with the kooks. Corsa is very quiet on a stock car but with headers they scream. Borla is deeper, and to me has a nicer sound, but they will drone some with the headers. If you are not too sensitive to drone, then go for Borla, AWESOME sound!! The advantage to corsa is they still get crazy loud but with no drone. I have had both systems on my car, with headers. Here are some clips for you to compare. Same car, same angle, same camera, same distance, same headers...the only thing that changes is the exhaust so its a good comparison. Hope it helps you out

wasn't this answered in your other thread? if you're set on borlas, do it. what is the reason they are advising you to buy corsas?

Great post that really illustrates the difference between Corsa and the other available catback systems.

I also ran Corsas for a while before moving on. The low drone was nice, but the high pitched sound just didn't belong on a Corvette for me.

I drive 2-3,000 miles a month and have the Kooks.
I tried B&B and they about drove me nuts.
Settled on the Corsa Sports and have been happy ever since.
They bark when you want them to without the drone.
I liked the B&B around town but on long trips they get to you.

If you plan to do any long(er) trips, drone will make you nuts.

I have the Borla Stingers..and love the sound. My car is stock, and it's just under the threshhold of being too loud for me..perfect sound for exhaust. Load at WOT, nice purrr at cruise. Anything much louder and I wouldn't like it, it would get annoying. For example, having a hard time having a conversation on cell phone while driving (hands free device of course).

IMHO if you are going to add headers I think you may want to just run stock exhaust for a while first. I've heard headers with stock exhaust sound really good, but headers with Borla Stingers may be too loud and droney (is that a word?!). Kind of depends on how drone-sensitive you are.

Just a thought..and it may save you a grand. It's easy to add the exhaust later.

I love my American Racing header and Corsa Z06 exhaust set-up on my '08 LS3. It has little to no drone at cruising speed and just screams at WOT.

Thanks! those clips really helped! the difference is night and day.
I will deff go with the Borla, to me there isnt even a comparison on which is nicer. But as they say, to each his own huh? So to get the full set up i would just need the Kooks headers and the Borla Stingers? Thanks again

If your going Kooks, you can get Kooks #6155-CC Hi Flo Cats that hook directly up to Corsa H or X pipe without buying the Kooks X pipe. If you want louder than Corsa Sports (I got the Corsa Sports with Kooks and still NO DRONE), then check out the new Corsa Extremes.

Jogar80: thanks for the sound clips. I've also been contemplating catbacks and the Borla suits my ears just right.

Yes, just get your kooks headers with cats or without, and order the Borla exhaust without the x-pipe.

Borla's are deeper in tone. I have them and have heard both side by side.

Get the "X" pipe - 3-6 RHWP.

I have Borla w/Kooks.

LG's are made by Borla and may be a better choice.

BTW get ceramic coated headers. Less heat & better performance.

Corsa sounds too european....borla is the better choice for a more agressive sound.
